Enhancing the student learning experience
The Fashion Retail Acadamy is a public and private sector joint initiative in London to prepare students for a career in the fashion retail industry. The Acadamy was built using leading edge architecture as a beacon for the retail fashion industry hence solutions needed to be a state of the art design to complement the surroundings whilst providing optimal functionality for a effective learning environment.
The project consisted of installing 20 classrooms with Smart Boards, video and audio. The focal point of the acadamy was the 200 capacity catwalk lecture theatre in which Pixel Global installed multiple screens and multiple control points. Two large side-by-side display screens, each provided with twin projectors for back up, show all available video and audio sources. Further repeater display panels were installed towards the rear of the theatre and in the overspill area outside the theatre to allow for optimum visibility. Additionally a camera system enabled staff to distribute live images alongside the presentation to all rooms in the acadamy and also to students remotely online. The cameras can also show zoomed footage of the lecturn, a model on the catwalk or a member of the audience. High quaility audio was provisioned via in-ceiling speakers and reinforced with sub woofers. The entire system was programmed by Pixel Global to be controlled via Crestron touch panels and strategic locations around the theatre. Furthermore, the system can be externally accessed via the IT network.
In addition to the teaching environments Pixel Global worked within the main reception area to install a large screen and concealed high output projector providing digital signage, again fully controlled via the Crestron system. Audio was also enabled via panel ceiling speakers. Public display screens were installed on every floor throughout the acadamy including the canteen area.
Here are a just a few of the projects we've been delighted to have worked on.
